Mark is a speaker/author with an incredible true story.  Mark is paralyzed and in a wheelchair, the result of being struck by a drunk driver.  He was on a cross-country bicycle trip with his best friend when it happened.  They were just teenagers.  Mark's best friend was killed, and Mark literally almost lost his head and was left totally paralyzed from the neck down.  After many months, with lots of prayer and hard work, he did regain some movement but still requires a wheelchair to get around.

Mark's been speaking both locally and nationally for over 15 years.  He speaks at schools, military bases, drug and alcohol recovery programs, churches, etc., to groups as small as 5 to ones in excess of 2000.  In 2006 he was named 'Victim Advocate of the Year' for San Diego County.  In 2002 Mark was 'Volunteer of the Year' with MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving).  He's written a book titled 'Unfinished Miles, One Man's Unthinkable Journey', created a poster, and produced a powerful twenty minute video of his story.  He's appeared on radio and television.  Recently he wrote the feature article and wound up on the cover of the U.S. Navy's 'Ashore' magazine.  It is the quarterly safety publication for the Navy and the Marines.

Mark is inspirational, an educator and a motivator.  Speaking from his wheelchair Mark makes a strong visual statement.  People often find themselves laughing at Mark's humor one moment, and then shedding tears the next.  Those that hear him, both young and old, will be affected in a profound way.  Better choices will be made, especially in regards to drinking, driving, and drugs.  Mark is an extremely positive person who tries to leave people with the feeling that no matter what the trial or challenge in life one can rise to the occasion, be an overcomer, He gives people hope.  He believes that attitude almost always determines one's altitude in life.

Mark is a person of strong faith.  For churches and church groups Mark speaks about a gamut of topics from miracles to prayer to forgiveness.  He's broken his neck twice and lived to tell about it.  God isn't done with him yet.  "They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony;" (Rev.12:11).
